Ajmer

Spending your vacation in Ajmer will be unforgettable experience. Ajmer is located on the southwest side of Jaipur . It is an oasis wrapped in green hills. It was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in the 7th century AD and it continued to be a major center for the Chauhan dynasty till 1193 AD.

Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for the Hindus as well as the Muslims. The Dargah Sharif tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti is especially famous, which is equally revered by both the Hindus as well as the Muslims. Mayo College, a school exclusively for Indian nobility, is also situated here. Ajmer is also the base for visiting Pushkar, which is just 14 kms away.

  1. Nice blog post. Faith and history define Ajmer. The town’s closest association is with the Dargah Sharif, the final resting place of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. For pilgrims, there are plenty of hotels in Ajmer for accommodation.
